Beloit College offers advanced placement or credit by examination with preference for the CEEB’s Advanced Placement (AP) program. AP subject examination scores of four and five guarantee 1 unit of credit and placement.
The College reserves the right to review each test to determine its acceptability. The appropriate academic department will review it in consultation with the registrar.
Remember, Beloit does not have a core curriculum of general education requirements. Therefore, there is no "freshman history" requirement to satisfy, for example. Rather, students complete a breadth requirement during their first two years. In this example, a score of 5 on the American History AP exam would earn the student one unit of credit, which counts as one of the student's Division III distribution courses.
