Admissions Tests

While we require students to submit results of either the ACT or SAT, we readily admit that standardized test scores are not flawless predictors of future college performance. Therefore, they are considered as just one of several components in the application. While a good score will sometimes give a weaker applicant a second look, it is rare that a weak score alone will result in a denial of admission.

We have no preference between the ACT or SAT. If you submit multiple score reports, we'll look at your best scores. (Save some time and have your score reports sent directly to us! Beloit's code numbers are: ACT 4564 / SAT 1059). Beloit College does not require the SAT or ACT Writing Exam for admission.

Every applicant for whom English is a second language should also submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)..
